10-Day Trekking Tour: Mount Artos, Mount Nemrut, Mount Suphan, and Mount Ararat
Day 1: Arrival in Van
• Meet at Van Airport.
• Transfer to hotel.
• Overnight stay at a hotel in Van.
Day 2: Van Castle and Akdamar Island
• Drive to visit Van Castle and Akdamar Island on Lake Van, where the 200th-century Armenian Church of the Holy Cross is located.
• Lunch.
• Proceed to Mount Artos for camping.
Day 3: Mount Artos Trekking
• Morning ascent to Mount Artos.
• Trekking for 7-8 hours with photo opportunities and scenic views.
• Return to campsite for rest and meals.
• Transfer to Van Lake campsite.
• Swim in the lake.
• Overnight stay in tents.
Day 4: Mount Nemrut Ascent
• Trek to the summit of Mount Nemrut (3510 m).
• Enjoy views of the Crater Lake and surrounding landscape.
• Photo break and descent to the starting point.
• Transfer to Adilcevaz.
• Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Adilcevaz.
Day 5: Mount Suphan Trekking
• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Drive to the foot of Mount Suphan.
• Trek to the summit for breathtaking views of Lake Van.
• Descent to starting point (ascent and descent: 8-9 hours).
• Transfer to Dogubayazit.
• Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Dogubayazit.
Day 6: Trek to Mount Ararat Camp 1
• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Drive to Cevirme Village near Mount Ararat.
• Porters will carry luggage.
• Trek to Base Camp (3200 m).
• Lunch, tea, and rest at the campsite.
• Dinner and overnight stay at Camp 1 (3200 m).
Day 7: Trek to Mount Ararat Camp 2
• Breakfast at Camp 1.
• Pack equipment and trek to Camp 2 (4200 m).
• Equipment transported by horses.
• Dinner and overnight stay at Camp 2.
Day 8: Mount Ararat Summit Day
• Early morning ascent (1-2 AM start).
• Trekking for 5-6 hours to the summit of Mount Ararat (5137 m).
• Return to Camp 2 (4200 m) for rest and meals.
• Pack equipment and descend to the car point (2200 m).
• Transfer to Dogubayazit.
• Overnight stay at a hotel in Dogubayazit.
Day 9: Extra Day or Cultural Tour
• Reserved as a backup in case of bad weather.
• If unused, cultural tour in Dogubayazit:
• Visit Ishak Pasha Palace (17th-century Ottoman palace).
• Explore Meteor Crater and Durupinar Site (Noah’s Ark footprint).
• Overnight stay at a hotel in Dogubayazit.
Day 10: Departure
• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Transfer to Van Airport according to departure time.
• End of the tour.
